A broad perspective.
A personal responsibility.

Azhar JamalFounder & Fractional CTOLondon · Working internationally

I’m Azhar. I released my first app at sixteen, and I’ve been building software professionally since 2012. What has kept me interested is the variety: understanding an unfamiliar problem, finding a promising idea, and doing the careful work that makes it useful.

That has taken me from an augmented-reality treasure hunt to a food-ordering service, connected vehicles and the software behind a national security operation. I’ve worked across design, mobile apps, hardware and the systems underneath, both on my own ventures and alongside other founders. Lessons from one field often open up possibilities in another.

I like getting close enough to a business to understand why things work the way they do. A conversation with the person using a system can change the whole direction of a build. Knowing what to simplify, what to keep and where to be ambitious is as much a part of the work as writing the software.

That is what the name Bright Artistry means to me. There is artistry in a clear interface, an elegant piece of engineering, or a clever connection that makes a difficult process feel straightforward. I care about the visible details and the decisions underneath them: how information moves, how a system recovers when something goes wrong, and how easily someone else can understand and extend it.

Today, I bring that approach to the businesses we work with. I stay involved, draw on specialists where their experience will make a difference, and take responsibility for what we build together. The satisfying part is seeing it settle into people’s working lives and knowing we’ve made something worth having.

Generalist judgement.
Specialist depth.

Our generalists bring experience across design, engineering and research. They can see how a product decision affects the build, or how a technical choice changes someone’s working day. That breadth helps us coordinate specialists, reduce handovers and simplify the whole system. It has always been the core of Bright Artistry.

We began building custom AI models in 2017. Today, agents put more research, building and testing capacity within everyone’s reach. Paired with broad experience and specialist depth, that gives us more room to explore good ideas, test them properly and refine the result. I remain accountable throughout.

Curiosity, put
into practice.

The tools have changed. The habit of getting close to a problem and seeing the work through has stayed.

  1. 2012

    Building professionally.

Websites, apps and the systems behind them. Learning by making things people use.

  2. 2017

    Building custom AI models.

Training generative networks from scratch and exploring language models and multi-agent simulations at university.

  3. 2019

    Part of the business.

Embedded technology leadership: building internal software and staying to help run it.

  4. 2021

    Foundations for a national operation.

Rebuilding scheduling, compliance and payroll while the security business kept running.

  5. 2026

    Agents join the work.

Supporting our team and live client operations. More capacity to build, check and refine.
